David Motadel est professeur d'histoire à la LES (London School of Economics and Political Science). Il est l'auteur de Islam and Nazi Germany's War (Harvard University Presse, 2014), récompensé par le Fraenkel Prize et a dirigé Islam and the European Empires (Oxford University Press, 2014, Paperback, 2016. En 2018, il a reçu le prix Philip-Leverhulme Prize pour l'histoire. Il est cette année (jusqu'en juin 2019) professeur invité à Sciences Po-Paris pour poursuivre ses recherches.
