Carla Fidalgo, PhD in Mathematics from the University of Coimbra, is a professor at the Coimbra Polytechnic - Coimbra Institute of Engineering (ISEC), in Portugal. She was President of the Assembly of Representatives of ISEC for 13 years, a member of the General Council of IPC, and a member of the Advisory Board of ISEC. She has been a researcher at the Mathematics Centre of the University of Coimbra (CMUC), co-founder of the Research Group on the Didactics of Mathematics in Engineering
