Description

This book provides a comprehensive exploration of the climate resilience and molecular adaptation of alpine medicinal flora, integrating insights from ecophysiology, metabolomics, and plantomics. It delves into how these high-altitude plants survive and thrive in extreme environments, offering valuable knowledge on their adaptation mechanisms at physiological, cellular, and genetic levels.
The book covers a wide range of topics, beginning with an introduction to alpine medicinal flora and their ecological significance. It examines resource use patterns, functional diversity, and ecosystem services in alpine regions, shedding light on how these plants interact with their environment. Advanced methodologies, including remote sensing, next-generation sequencing, and omics technologies, are discussed to provide deeper insights into plant responses to climate-induced stress. Specialized chapters focus on cold acclimation, oxidative stress regulation, epigenetic modifications, and microbial interactions, all crucial for understanding plant survival strategies. Additionally, the book addresses the impact of climate change on alpine plant evolution, validation of traditional medicinal knowledge, and the commercialization of these valuable botanical resources.
This book is a valuable resource for researchers, academicians, and students in plant sciences, biotechnology, and environmental studies. It also serves as an essential reference for policymakers, conservationists, and industry professionals involved in sustainable utilization and commercialization of alpine medicinal plants.
